THE WEEK AHEAD
Tuesday, February 18th Columbia @ Charlotte 7:00pm Cricket Arena
This is the first of two games between Charlotte and Columbia this week. The Inferno is 2-1-0 this season against the Checkers. The Checkers is in fifth place with 56 points in the Northeast Division.
Thursday, February 20th Columbia @ Augusta 7:05pm Richmond Civic Center
Columbia is 4-3-0 against the Lynx this season and 6-6-3 all-time. This is the eighth game out of nine this year. Augusta is in seventh place with 40 points in the Southeast Division.
Friday, February 21st Columbia vs. Charlotte 7:05pm Carolina Coliseum
The Inferno is 5-2-1 all-time against the Checkers. This is the last meeting between the Inferno and Charlotte this season.
Saturday, February 22nd Columbia vs. Greensboro 7:05pm Carolina Coliseum
Columbia has never won a game against Greensboro in the last two seasons. The Inferno is 0-3-2 all-time against the Generals. Greensboro is in second place with 67 points in the Northeast Division.

Sunday, February 9th COLUMBIA 2 South Carolina 1 @ South Carolina
Rejean Stringer scored shorthanded at 9:23 of the first period with Sean Owens and Robin Carruthers assisting. Stingrays Joel Irving answered the goal 21 seconds later to tie the game on the power play. Stringer scored his second of the night at 6:45 of the second period that was also the game winner. Carruthers had the assist of the goal. After a scoreless third period, Josh Blackburn earned the win between the pipes stopping 26 or 27 shots.
Thursday, February 13th COLUMBIA 8 Florida 0 @ Columbia
Sean Owens opened the scoring for the Inferno at 9:20 of the first period carrying the puck behind the net and wrapped it around goaltender Rob Zepp. Clint Way scored at 13:29 with a slapshot from the blueline with Tim Smith and Shawn Wansborough on the assist. At 19:15, Chris St. Croix scored his eighth goal of the season, on the power play, also with a slapshot from the blueline to give the Inferno a 3-0 lead going into the second period. The Inferno was on power play when Wansborough scored the fourth goal for the Inferno at 5:09. Derek Crimin and Corey Hessler had the assists. Hessler scored from the crease at 17:11 with passes from Denis Martynyuk and Erik Adams. Less than a minute later, Rejean Stringer shot the puck past goaltender Zepp to give the Inferno a 6-0 lead at the end of the second. On the power play at 8:29, Robin Carruthers redirected the puck into the net. Chris St. Croix and Matt Ulwelling had the assists. With two minutes left on the clock, Derek Crimin ended the scoring spree with his second of the season. Patrick Couture earned his fourth shutout as he stopped 21 shots for his 22nd win. The Inferno went 3-4 on the power play and 3-3 on the penalty kill.
Friday, February 14th Columbia 1 CINCINNATI 4 @ Columbia
Corey Hessler scored the only goal for the Inferno on the power play at 13:13 of the second period. The Inferno had 39 shots on goal and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The lose ended a six-game winning streak for Columbia. Steve Gallace, Matt Noga, Brent Twordik and Chris Wismer scored for Cincinnati.
Saturday, February 15th COLUMBIA 4 Greenville 2 @ Greenville
The Inferno came alive in the second period, scoring three goals to take the lead and the win against Greenville. Chris St. Croix, Corey Hessler each had a power play goal and Robin Carruthers scored shorthanded for the Inferno. Shawn Wansborough scored the fourth goal for Columbia on the power play. Josh Blackburn stopped 25 of 27 shots.
