Columbia Inferno News Release

Columbia, SC, February 17, 2003— The Columbia Inferno announce that defenseman Erik Adams has been traded to the Baton Rouge Kingfish for veteran defenseman Trevor Demmans.

"Demmans is a fine two-way defenseman," said Coach White, "He was second in scoring for the Kingfish with 7 goals and 33 assists and was logging in a serious amount of ice time."

Playing 48 games this season, he recorded 40 points, 59 penalty minutes and was a –11.

Demmans began his ECHL career with the Baton Rouge Kingfish in 1997, playing 38 games. He then recorded time with the Wheeling Nailers from 1997 – 1998 and the Pee Dee Pride from 1998 - 2001. He played in season with the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the West Coast Hockey League before returning to the ECHL to play for the Kingfish.

Coach White said, "Whenever you can add a player of his dimension to your team, it will help us in positioning for the playoffs. We would like to welcome Trevor and his family to the Midlands."

The Inferno hit the road on Tuesday, February 18th to face the Charlotte Checkers and also on Thursday, February 20th to play the Augusta Lynx. The next home game is Friday, February 21st against the Checkers at 7:05pm.
