Indianapolis Indians News Release
ST. PAUL, MINN. - In a rainy start to the series between the Indianapolis Indians and St. Paul Saints, the second game of the six-game set was suspended in the bottom of the eighth inning tied, 2-2, on Wednesday night due to inclement weather. The game will resume play at 7 PM ET on Thursday evening, with the regularly scheduled game beginning no earlier than 8:05 PM ET. The nightcap will be a nine-inning contest.
The Indians took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when T.J. Rivera doubled for his first hit with Indy and came around to score on a two-out RBI single by Joe Hudson. They tacked on another run in the fifth following a leadoff double by Ethan Paul.
St. Paul took both runs back on a two-run homer off the bat of major league rehabber Alex Kirilloff in the sixth inning before the game was suspended in the middle of the eighth inning.
Chad Kuhl started for the Indians on his first major league rehab assignment from the Pirates. He allowed just one hit and one walk through 3.0 innings of work and fanned five. Both St. Paul runs came off Cody Ponce, who piggybacked with Kuhl for his shortened appearance.
The Indians are in the first of a two-week road trip at St. Paul and Omaha before returning back to Victory Field on June 1. Single-game tickets for that homestand go on sale on Monday, May 24 at 10 AM ET. 2021 season tickets, mini plans and flex plans come with priority seating access. To purchase, or for more on the Indians, visit IndyIndians.com or contact the Victory Field Box Office at (317) 269-3545 or [emailÃÂ protected].
