Philadelphia, PA - Mike Iggulden's goal with less then a minute remaining in the overtime session clinched the comeback victory for the Sound Tigers, beating the Philadelphia Phantoms 2-1. After Michael Ratchuk's first period goal, Yann Danis would not allow another tally, stopping 28 shots in the game to earn his sixth win of the season. Jeremy Colliton tied the score in the third period with his third goal of the year. The Sound Tigers improve to 22-9-1-2 and have 47 points and stay in second place in the East Division.

The Sound Tigers carried the play in the first period, firing 17 shots on Phantoms' starting goalie Scott Munroe. The Philadelphia net-minder was up to the task turning aside each shot including the Sound Tigers' best chance on a point shot that was Pascal Morency redirected. On the Phantoms' fifth shot of the game, they were able to take the 1-0 lead. Michael Ratchuk cradled a pass from Andreas Nodl at the left point and fired a slap-shot past Danis at the 14:09 mark of the opening frame. Jared Ross also had an assist on Ratchuk's second tally of the season.

Philadelphia had the best opportunity of the middle frame coming on a broken play that everyone except Jonathan Matsumoto thought was an icing. The Phantoms iced the puck and Sound Tigers' defenseman Mark Wotton went back for the touchup. Wotton missed the puck and Matsumoto pounced on it, centering it to David Laliberte in the slot all alone. Laliberte took his time and tried to snap a shot over Danis' glove but the Sound Tiger net-minder snatched it out of mid-air, keeping the score at 1-0 entering the third period.

With about seven minutes remaining in the third period, Morency would draw an interference penalty on Ryan Parent and the Sound Tigers would finally break Munroe's shutout bid. Kurtis McLean sent a cross-ice pass to Andrew MacDonald at the left point where the rookie defenseman blasted a slap-shot towards the net. Colliton was stationed in front and was able to tip the puck past Munroe, to tie the score at 1-1 on his third goal of the season.

In overtime, the Sound Tigers would kill off a penalty of their own and then were able to gain a man-advantage of their own. Head coach Jack Capuano sent out four forwards on the power-play, Colliton, McLean, Ben Walter and Iggulden. With 51 seconds remaining, it was team leading scorer, Iggulden wristing his 16th goal of the season past Munroe's glove to win the game for the Sound Tigers, 2-1.

Danis was named the second star of the game, making 28 saves to earn the victory for the Sound Tigers. Munroe stopped 37 of the 39 shots the Sound Tigers fired on him. On the power-play, the Sound Tigers were 2-for-4 and a perfect 5-for-5 on the penalty-kill.
