Bulldogs sign Mike Minard to P.T.O.

HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today that the club has signed goaltender Mike Minard to a Professional Tryout (P.T.O.) contract. Minard is scheduled to join the Bulldogs today and be available for Hamilton's game tonight versus Syracuse at Copps Coliseum.

Minard, 32, played last season with the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound netminder posted a record of 15-12-1 along with a goals against average of 3.74 and a save percentage of 0.895. A former 4th round, 83rd overall selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Minard played in four seasons with the Bulldogs (1996-2000) and has an overall record of 26-16-5 in 54 games while registering a 3.01 GAA and a 0.913 SV%. The native of Owen Sound, Ontario is also a two-time winner (1999-2000, 2000-2001) of the AHL's Yannick Dupre Memorial Award which is given to the player who best represents the spirit of Yanick Dupre with his involvement in the community.

Hamilton hosts their North Division rival the Syracuse Crunch in game three of a six-game home stand at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Copps Coliseum.
