IceHogs Sign Defenseman Dmitry Osipov to PTO

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs today announced they have signed defenseman Dmitry Osipov to a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.

Osipov, 22, has spent the 2018-19 season with the ECHL's Indy Fuel, logging a career-high 13 points (1g, 12a) and 48 penalty minutes in 62 games. The 6-4, 234-lbs blueliner scored his lone goal of the campaign in Indy's loss against Reading last night and has two points (1g, 1a) over his last three contests. He departs the Fuel ranked second among team defensemen in PIMs and third in assists.

The Moscow native made his pro debut last year and split the campaign between the ECHL's Quad City Mallards and Chicago Wolves. He tallied one goal and four assists over 33 ECHL games with Quad City, including netting his first pro goal on March 24 at Tulsa, and picked up one helper in 11 AHL contests with Chicago.

Overall, Osipov has combined for 18 points (2g, 16a) in 95 career ECHL games over the last two seasons. The defenseman has also logged 41 points (8g, 33a) in 270 career contests in the Western Hockey League with Vancouver (2013-17) and Brandon (2016-17).
