Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
Last Weeks Highlights:
3/17/04 > Long Beach 3 @ Fresno 4
The Ice Dogs fell to the Fresno Falcons Wednesday night, trailing early in the game. Fresno took a 3-0 lead in the first period before Jerome Marois got Long Beach on the board. Jimmy Callahan scored early in the third to bring the Ice Dogs to within one, but another goal by the Falcons would make Martin Paquet's final tally late in the game obsolete.
3/19/04 > Long Beach 3 @ Bakersfield 4
Playing for the final time in Bakersfield this year, the Ice Dogs fell short with another 4-3 loss. Long Beach took a 2-0 lead midway through the first period with goals by Trevor Read and Alex Kim, but Bakersfield rattled off four straight goals before Michael Vyhlidal notched his first goal as an Ice Dog. T.J. Aceti had 20 saves in the defeat.
3/20/04 > Long Beach 5 vs. Bakersfield 2
The Ice Dogs finally got back in the win column Saturday night, downing the Bakersfield Condors, 5-2. Jerome Marois scored a hat trick, and Paquet and Ouellet combined for five assists to give the French Connection line eight points on the night. The win gave the Ice Dogs 49 points, eclipsing the 48 point total of last season and pulling them to within four points of 5th place Bakersfield.
3/21/04 > Long Beach 1 vs. Las Vegas 3
Going for the second win in two nights, the Ice Dogs came up short in a 3-1 loss to the Las Vegas Wranglers. It was the final meeting of the season between these two teams, with the Ice Dogs finishing 2-7-0 against the Wranglers. Martin Paquet got the lone goal for Long Beach, in a quiet game that saw both teams combine for only eight total minutes in penalties.
