Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads will wear Syringa Bank Old Time Jerseys this week and auction them off to the highest bidders with all proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.

Last year's jersey auction to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County raised over $9,000, and in the three years the Steelheads have run the auction, nearly $30,000 dollars has been raised.

The players will wear jerseys specifically designed for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County Auction for three games on March 23rd, 24th and 26th. Fans bid on their favorite player's "old time" gameworn jerseys at bidding tables at the three games. The winning bidder will be awarded his/her autographed jersey following the March 26th game. Jerseys may also be bought outright for $800.00 each.

Mark Kuhnhausen, Chief Professional Officer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County said, "The Idaho Steelheads leadership and commitment to giving back to the community is inspirational, and it is great for young people at the Club to know the Steelheads care about them and their future."

About Boys & Girls Club

Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County was established in 1997 after community leaders started looking for solutions to their high juvenile crime rate. The Club helps young people find positive alternatives to negative influences, especially during the critical after-school and summer periods. The facility provides daily programs and services to over 1700 youth annually. Activities are offered in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, the arts, and sports fitness. Annual memberships are $10 a year, yet no child is turned away for lack of the fee. Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County will open a new Club in Meridian in March. This is the second Clubhouse in the county.
