RECAP OF BOMBERS' FOUR WINS LAST WEEK:

3/17/04- Cincinnati 2 @ BOMBERS 5- Olivier Proulx extended a point scoring streak to five with a pair of goals, while Janne Jokila had a goal and two assists as the Dayton Bombers defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-2 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Wednesday night during a "St. Patrick's Day" Bash. Proulx's first goal tied the score at one 9:51 into the first period. After Scott Cameron just missed the net on a shot, Proulx's pass from behind the goal line caromed off goalie Tyler Masters' leg and into the net. Brian Ridolfi made it 2-1 at 12:22 on a quick shot from the circle that beat Masters. Then, at 16:14, Janne Jokila displayed a crafty maneuver by sideskating defenseman Nick Nutcher in the face-off circle before feeding the puck over to Chad Theuer for a score. Theuer helped return the favor for Jokila with 50 seconds remaining in the second period. Theuer skated in on a two-on-one, then fed Jokila for a goal to make it 4-1. Proulx added an insurance goal from Jokila and Jason Deskins at 14:50 of the third period. Goalie Andrew Penner, making his 16th straight start, made 41 saves for the Bombers, 17 in the third period. Jake Wiegand extended a point-scoring streak to six with an assist. Philip Lewandowski and Mike Henderson scored for the Cyclones.

3/19/04- Cincinnati 2 @ BOMBERS 5- Brian Ridolfi scored the decisive goal in the seventh round of the shootout to lift the Dayton Bombers to their second straight win, a 3-2 triumph over the Wheeling Nailers during Ultimate Sports Bar Night at the Ervin J. Nutter Center on Friday. Ridolfi also assisted on defenseman Grady Moore's slap shot goal that put the Bombers in front 2-1 at 10:50 of the third period. Jason Jaffray tied the game for Wheeling to force the extra session with a score at 15:10. Jason Deskins also scored for the Dayton Bombers. Olivier Proulx assisted on the play, extending a point-scoring streak to six games. Goalie Andrew Penner notched his second straight +40-save performance with 44 stops through three periods and an overtime session as the Bombers recorded their first win over Wheeling this season. Tom Rouleau scored the other Nailers' goal.

3/20/04- Toledo 3 @ BOMBERS 8- Janne Jokila led a well-balanced attack with a goal and three assists as the Dayton Bombers established numerous season-highs in their third consecutive victory, an 8-3 win over the Toledo Storm at the Ervin J. Nutter Center in front of 4,110 fans as part of the Bombers' first-ever Bike Night on Saturday.Jokila's goal came on a power play with three seconds left in the second period to provide the Bombers with a 7-2 cushion. A pretty three-way passing sequence, featuring cross-ice passes from Olivier Proulx and Jason Deskins, ended with Jokila's tap-in at the side of the crease. The Bombers' three power play goals, eight total goals, and 61 shots were all 2003-2004 season highs. The Bombers' four-goal first period matched a season-best. The Bombers erupted with scores by Chad Theuer, Brian Ridolfi, Deskins, and Jason Crain (PP). By the 10:15 mark, the Bombers had built a 4-0 lead and had knocked Storm starting goalie Jimi St. John out of the game. The Bombers outshot Toledo 24-7 in the first period. Deskins and Crain each finished the game with two goals and an assist, while Olivier Proulx extended a point-scoring streak to seven games. Newcomer Scooter Smith, who along with Deskins ended the game with a team-best eight shots on goal, recorded the other Bombers' conversion, his first goal with his new team. Andrew Penner won his third straight game with a 19-save effort.

3/21/04- BOMBERS 5 @ Johnstown 1-- Olivier Proulx extended a point scoring streak to eight games with two goals and an assist while goalie Dave Marlin made 42 saves in his 2003-2004 Dayton Bombers' debut as the Dayton Bombers recorded their season-high fourth straight win with a 5-1 triumph over the Johnstown Chiefs Sunday evening. Proulx and Matt Herneisen assisted on Janne Jokila's first period score at 5:46. Jokila, who had one goal and three assists on Saturday, now has points in five straight games. Proulx then tallied two goals in a 1:35 second span of second. He deflected Sean Connolly's point shot at 1:51, then sent in a rebound off a Grady Moore blast at 3:26. The rookie now has 20 goals this season. Chad Theuer and Scott Cameron added insurance goals for the Bombers 27 seconds apart in the third period after Brent Kelly had pulled the Chiefs to within two at 12:36 of the second. Dave Marlin was sensational in net for the Bombers in his debut, stopping 42 Chiefs' shots, 18 of which were in the second period. The game in Johnstown was delayed about 2 1/2 hours at its start as a result of ice difficulties.
