Eddie Pershin (72 pts.), Jason Jaffray (71 pts.) and J.F. Dufour (65 pts.) are all in the top 20 in scoring in the ECHL...Pershin is tied for the league lead with 56 assists...Jaffray is fourth in the league in goals with 34...Jake Ortmeyer is second in the league in plus-minus with a +35 rating...Tyler MacKay is fifth in the ECHL with a 2.26 goals against average, Nick Boucher is tied for tenth at 2.35...Brendon Hodge is tied for 17th in rookie scoring with 45 points.

Team notes:

The Nailers reached the 100 point mark for the first time in franchise history with a 3-2 shootout loss in Dayton on Friday...The Nailers have also clinched home ice advantage for the first round of the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs...Wheeling is second in the league in goals for per game at 3.64, they are fifth in the league in goals against per game with 2.58.

Friday, March 19 Wheeling 2 @ Dayton 3 (SO)

In the Nailers only game of the week, they lost to the Bombers 3-2 in a shootout. By picking up one point in the game, the Nailers got 100 points in a season for the first time in franchise history. Dayton took a 1-0 lead at 2:59 of the first period on a Jason Deskins goal. The Nailers tied the game 1-1 when Tom Rouleau scored at 15:38 of the second period from J.F. Dufour and J.C. Ruid. The Bombers reclaimed the lead at 2-1 on a Grady Moore goal at 10:50 of the third period. Jason Jaffray tied the game 2-2 for Wheeling with Dufour and Ruid assisting. The Bombers won the game in the seventh round of the shootout, outscoring the Nailers 3-2 in the shootout. Tyler MacKay made 35 saves on 37 shots in the loss.

Tuesday, March 23 Wheeling @ Reading 7:05p.m.

The Nailers travel to Reading for the final time this season. The Nailers are 7-0-0 against the Royals this season, 3-0-0 in Reading.

Friday, March 26 Johnstown @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.

The Nailers begin their final home weekend of the season against Johnstown. The Nailers are 3-5-0 against the Chiefs this season, 2-1-0 at Wheeling. With a win or an overtime/shootout loss, the Nailers will set a new franchise record for unbeaten streak at home. The Nailers are on a current 20 game home unbeaten streak, 18-0-2 in that span.

Saturday, March 27 Reading @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.

The Nailers close their regular season home schedule against the Reading Royals. It will be Fan Appreciation Night with all tickets just $6.00 in conjunction with WTOV-9 and ClearChannel Communications. After the game their will be a live auction for the jerseys off the Nailers backs. An auctioneer will auction off the Nailers game worn jersey's from the game for the fans to buy.

Sunday, March 28 Wheeling @ Dayton 6:00p.m.

This will be the final game of the season against the Bombers for the Nailers. The Nailers only game last week was a 3-2 shootout loss in Dayton. The Nailers are 8-0-1 against the Bombers, 3-0-1 in Dayton.

Nailers Player of the Week:

The Nailers Player of the Week is J.C. Ruid. Ruid had two assists in the Nailers only game played last week, a 3-2 shootout loss in Dayton. Ruid also had one of the two Nailers goals in the shootout. Ruid also played at a +2.

Nailers Goaltender of the Week:

The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Tyler MacKay. MacKay went 0-0-1 in the Nailers only game last week, a 3-2 shootout loss at Dayton. His goals against average was 1.85 with a .946 save percentage.
