
Everblades remain in second after weekend split

The Florida Everblades picked up a series split this past weekend after they fell to the Greensboro Generals 6-4 on Friday night and rebounded to down the Generals 5-3 on Saturday night. Florida ranks second in the ECHL's Southern Division and has 5 games remaining in the regular season. The Blades hit the road to take on the Charlotte Checkers in a key divisional match-up this Wednesday at 7:05 PM. Florida then travels to Roanoke, VA to battle the Express on Friday night at 7:30 PM. The Blades finish up their three game road trip on Sunday in Greensboro at 4:00 PM. Florida forward Brian McCullough ranks third in the ECHL in scoring with 79 points. Everblades regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com, www.ABC-7.com and www.NBC-2.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Dan Guenther calling the play-by-play. The games can be also be heard inside TECO arena on 96.5 FM. 'Blade Talk' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM airs from 6:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday nights. The show will be live on remote at the Fort Myers location tonight with player guest Tim O'Connell.
UPCOMING EVENTS/PROMOTIONS AT TECO ARENA: Yanni will play a sold out TECO Arena on Sunday, March 28th at 7:00 PM. The Blades battle the Augusta Lynx at TECO Arena on Friday, April 2nd and Saturday, April 3rd at 7:30 PM. Saturday's game is Fan Appreciation Night. GAME NOTES: This will be the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season. The Everblades are 2-0-1 versus the Checkers this year. Charlotte upended the Blades 3-2 in Charlotte back on January 7th. The Checkers are currently ranked 5th in the Southern division. Florida leads the Checkers by six points coming into this week and has played one less game.

GAME NOTES: This will be the fourth and final meeting of the regular season between the two clubs. The Everblades are 2-1-0 versus the Express so far this season. Roanoke currently ranks sixth in the ECHL's Southern Division.

The Florida Everblades (33-24-10) defeated the Greensboro Generals (36-27-1) 5-3 Saturday night in front of 6,571 at TECO Arena. The victory helped Florida reclaim sole possession of second place from South Carolina who lost 4-2 on Saturday night in Roanoke.
