Bakersfield Condors News Release
Last Week
Wednesday, March 17 Attendance: 3,429
The Condors held leads of 2-1 and 3-2 in this game, but couldn't hold on, suffering a 4-3 shootout loss to the Idaho Steelheads. Paul Rosebush, Andrew Ianiero and Valdemar Pelikovsky scored for Bakersfield, who led 3-2 heading into the final minute of play. But for the second time this season, Idaho tied the game when they pulled their netminder for the extra attacker. Lance Galbraith scored with just 26 seconds to go and force the extra session.
Friday, March 19 Attendance: 6,539
Long Beach tallied two goals in the first period to take an early lead, but Bakersfield stormed back with four straight goals to take the lead and entertain the crowd, which was the fourth largest of the season for the Condors. Todd Alexander, Jason Ralph, Quinn Fair and Paul Rosebush recorded tallies for the home team. A third period goal cut the lead to one, but Bakersfield held on for the win.
Saturday, March 20
The Condors scored the first goal of the game on their first shot of the game, as Todd Alexander notched his ninth of the season early in the first period. From there the Ice Dogs took over, tying the game just 55 seconds later and reeling off five consecutive goals over the rest of the game, including three by Jerome Marois. Jason Ralph's power play goal late in the third period brought the final score to 5-2, splitting the home and home series. The Condors managed just 16 shots in the game.
Sunday, March 21
Again, the Condors opened the scoring, this time with a tally from Johan Astrom. But the Gulls scored the next three to make it 3-1 after 40 minutes of play. Early in the third period, Paul Rosebush recorded his 25th of the season, extending his career-best goal output this year. But the Gulls kept Bakersfield at bay by scoring again at 12:26 to bring the lead back to 4-2. Trevor Koenig took care of the rest, stopping 10 third period Condors shots and 33 in the game for the win.
Where We're At
The Condors have an overall record of 22-36-9, for 53 points on the season. They sit in fifth place in the Pacific Division, four points ahead of sixth place Long Beach, who has two games in hand.

Notes from the Nest
· The line of Paul Rosebush â Andrew Ianiero â Todd Alexander has been red hot of late. Rosebush and Ianiero have both recorded at least one point in each of the last seven games, while Alexander has a point in six of the last seven. During that stretch, they have combined for 13g-20a-33pts. Rosebush has eight goals during the stretch, and at least a goal in six of the seven, while Ianiero has an assist in each match.
· Rosebush has 10 power play goals to lead the team. His previous career high was four and he had just eight in his career coming into the season.
· Shane Bendera's victory on Friday night ended a stretch of eight straight starts in goal without a win.
· Friday's game was the first in Condors history in which they were eliminated from playoff contention. Despite that, it was the fourth-highest attended game of the year at Centennial Garden.
· The Condors are expecting the return of two of their leading scorers to the lineup this week, with centers Paul Willett and Kevin Riehl, who were both on IR this weekend. Willett, who last played on February 29th, has missed the last nine games.
Quote of the Week
