Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

Last Weeks Highlights:

2/4/04 > Long Beach 1 vs. Las Vegas 4

The Ice Dogs fell to the Las Vegas Wranglers Wednesday night by the same score they beat them by just five days prior. Former Ice Dogs player Jeff Attard had two goals for Las Vegas, who never trailed in the game. Kevin McDonald got the lone goal for the Ice Dogs in the second period to tie the score at one apiece. Ice Dogs coach Kevin Kaminski was ejected in the third period after receiving a game misconduct and T.J. Aceti made 27 saves.

2/6/04 > Long Beach 2 vs. Bakersfield 6

Playing without head coach Kevin Kaminski behind the bench due to a one game suspension, the Ice Dogs lost to Bakersfield in a high scoring contest. The Condors led 4-1 after the first period before things calmed down a bit. John McNabb and Alex Kim each scored for Long Beach who had not lost at home this season to Bakersfield. The season series is now tied three games apiece between these two clubs, who are separated by only seven points in the standings.

2/7/04 > Long Beach 2 vs. Trenton 0

The Ice Dogs got solid play from T.J. Aceti Saturday night, as he earned his second shutout of the season when the Ice Dogs downed the Trenton Titans. It was Trenton's first ever visit to Long Beach, though the teams met earlier this year in Trenton back on October 24 with the Ice Dogs falling in a shootout 4-3. Dan Vandermeer and Nolan Graham both scored for Long Beach, which now holds a 3-4-1 record against Eastern Conference teams.

This Weeks' Games:

2/10/04 > Long Beach @ San Diego

The Ice Dogs will make the short trip down to San Diego on Tuesday to take on the Gulls. San Diego defeated Long Beach on January 29 by a score of 2-1. The Ice Dogs will be looking to break a six game winless streak against the Pacific Division leading Gulls and continue to move themselves up in the standings.

2/11/04 > Long Beach vs. Alaska

Long Beach and Alaska will square off Wednesday night in the teams' fifth meeting of the year. The Ice Dogs are 0-3-1 against the Aces this season, falling 2-1 in overtime in the last game back on December 3rd in Anchorage. Long Beach is looking to gain some ground on Alaska, who currently holds the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.

2/13/04 > Long Beach @ Bakersfield

The Ice Dogs would like to avenge their loss of a week ago when they travel to Bakersfield to take on the Condors. The teams are 3-3 against each other this season and are only separated by seven points in the standings. The teams will meet four more times this season. John McNabb currently has 9 points in 6 games against the Condors.

2/14/04 > Long Beach @ Las Vegas

The last time the Ice Dogs traveled to Las Vegas they won here for the first time, 4-1. They will look to continue a trend Saturday night when they play the first of a two game series against the Wranglers. Las Vegas defeated the Ice Dogs in Long Beach last week. The Ice Dogs are 1-4 against their Pacific Division rivals this season.

2/15/04 > Long Beach @ Las Vegas

It will be the fifth game in six nights for the Ice Dogs when they take on the Las Vegas Wranglers in the second game of a two game series. It will be the seventh meeting between the two clubs, who will meet twice more during the regular season.
