Fresno Falcons News Release

LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 1-3-0 OVERALL RECORD: 12-30-5, 29 pts.

Feb. 3 @ Bakersfield, 3-1 Win – The Falcons began the month of February by knocking off the Condors at Centennial Garden on the strength of goals from Mike Mathers, Drew Schoneck and Jason Weaver and 28 saves from goaltender Mike Brusseau. The victory snapped three significant winless streaks for the club: six straight against the Condors, seven consecutive overall and 14 in a row on the road dating back to Nov. 14.

Feb. 4 vs. Trenton, 3-2 Loss – Fresno failed to win two straight for the first time since the first two games of 2004 when they lost to the Trenton Titans. Kory Mullin and John Wroblewski helped rally the team from a 2-0 deficit entering the third period, but the Falcons also yielded an unassisted, short-handed goal in the third that proved the difference.

Feb. 6 vs. Trenton, 6-4 Loss – In the finale of a two-game set with the Titans, the Falcons yet again rallied from a two-goal deficit. Trailing, 4-2, late in the second period, Jason Weaver and Boris Protsenko scored 1:06 apart to draw the club even entering the third. For the second straight game, though, Fresno gave-up a game-winning, short-handed goal in the final period on their way to the loss.

Feb. 7 vs. Bakersfield, 4-1 Loss – Fresno ended a stretch of four games in five days with a 4-1 loss to Bakersfield. Captain Jason Weaver netted the only goal for the Falcons in front of a crowd of 7,582 at Save Mart Center.
