Cyclones Wrap Up Home Stand on Tuesday

The Cyclones look to end their home stand on a positive note on Tuesday night vs. Peoria. In the first four games of the home set, the Cyclones are 0-3-1 with losses to Dayton, Toledo and Johnstown and an overtime loss to Wheeling. After Tuesday's match-up with Peoria, the Cyclones head to Trenton for games on Friday and Saturday. The Clones wrap up the week in Reading on Sunday.

Wednesday, February 4-Dayton 3 at Cincinnati 2

The Bombers jumped on the Cyclones with two first period goals. In the second, Mark Concannon scored his eighth of the year to cut the lead in half. The Bombers scored early in the third to regain a two-goal lead. Jason Maleyko would score his second goal with 1:15 left in the game, but the Clones could get no closer as they fell to 4-4-1 on the season vs. Dayton.

Friday, February 6-Toledo 3 at Cincinnati 1

The Cyclones were victims of the Nick Parillo and Alexandre Jacques show on Friday night. Parillo had two first period markers (both assisted by Jacques). Jacques scored his 20th goal of the season in the second. The lone Clones goal was scored on a power play with 38 seconds left in the third. Josh Harrold slammed home a goal mouth scramble to avoid the shutout.

Saturday, February 7-Wheeling 4 at Cincinnati 3 OT

The Cyclones recorded their first point of the home stand after suffering an overtime loss to the best team in the league. Josh Harrold opened the scoring with a power-play marker 3:53 into the first. Wheeling would storm back with a pair of first period markers to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. In the second, Garrett Prosofsky scored his team-leading 17th goal to tie the game at two. Wheeling's Eddie Pershin reclaimed the lead for the Nailers by converting a power play at the 9:56 mark of the second. The Nailers would hold a 3-2 lead until the final stages of the third. With 38 seconds left in the third, Evan Cheverie scored a sixth attacker goal to send the game to overtime. In the extra frame, Randy Petruk took a delay of game penalty after clearing the puck over the boards. On the ensuing power play, J.C. Ruid tipped home a J.F. Dufour shot to win the game for the Nailers.

Sunday, February 8-Johnstown 5 at Cincinnati 3

The Cyclones dropped a heartbreaker to the Chiefs on Sunday. Cincinnati took a 2-0 lead on goals by Bob Rangus and Tyler Deis. The Chiefs would cut the lead in half when Jeff Zehr scored late in the second period. In the third, Larry Courville scored early to tie the game at two. Evan Cheverie scored his second goal with the Cyclones to retake the lead at 3-2. The Chiefs would score three unanswered after Cheverie's marker to win the game. Included in the barrage was Courville's second of the game, Brent Bilodeau's game winner and an empty netter by Jay Langager.

This Week

Tuesday, February 10-Peoria at Cincinnati

The Cyclones face off with Peoria for the 12th time this year on Tuesday. The Clones are 4-7-0 vs. the R-Men this season.

Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14-Cincinnati at Trenton

The Cyclones make their first trip to Trenton this weekend. The Titans will be returning home for the first time following a six-game road trip.

Sunday, February 15-Cincinnati at Reading

The Clones return to Reading to avenge a 5-2 loss at the Sovereign Center on December 19th. Cincinnati beat the Royals 4-3 at U.S. Bank Arena on January 28th.

Transaction Actions

Last week, the Cyclones traded away three players and added four new players. Evan Cheverie was signed this week after beginning the season in the United League. Cheverie had two goals over the weekend in his first ECHL contests of the year. Terry Marchant was dealt to Augusta for Josh Bennett. Bennett refused to report, and Cincinnati traded his rights to Texas in exchange for Shawn Weiman. Weiman made his Cyclones debut on Saturday and recorded two assists on Sunday. Andrew Proskurnicki was acquired from the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future considerations. Proskurnicki had an assist in his Clones debut on Saturday. Mike Bozoian also joined the Cyclones this week. Bozoian was acquired from Dayton. The Cyclones dealt Jade Galbraith to Pensacola on Saturday for Jamie Herrington. On Saturday, the Clones also sent Tom Rouleau to the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.

Clones to Watch

-Evan Cheverie played his 100th professional game on Wednesday in his ECHL season debut.
