Idle Snakes ready to return to ice

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Columbus Cottonmouths, by virtue of being idle over the past week, now find themselves in fourth place in the Central Division, just two points behind third-place Gwinnett but just two points ahead of fifth-place Pensacola as well. The Snakes play three home games this week but all against teams outside of the Central Division. However, two of the games are against the Florence Pride, a team the Cottonmouths are a perfect 3-0-0 against so far on the season.

Tuesday, February 10 – Florence at Columbus, 7:30 PM EST

The Snakes hit the ice for the first time in ten days as they battle the Florence Pride at the Snake Pit. The Cottonmouths defeated Florence 3-1 in their last meeting on January 23 in Columbus and are 3-0-0 against the Pride on the season.

Friday, February 13 – Columbia at Columbus, 7:30 PM EST

Columbus battles the Columbia Inferno on Friday the 13th at home. Columbia, last season's Southern Conference champion, has opened up an eight-point lead over Florida and Greensboro for first place in the Southern Division. The Snakes are 2-2-1 against Columbia so far on the season, and Friday's contest will represent the final regular-season meeting between the two teams.

Saturday, February 14 – Florence at Columbus, 7:30 PM EST

The Snakes play the Pride on Valentine's Day at the Snake Pit, the third matchup against Florence in ten games for Columbus. Each team plays each other one more time in each other's home building, with the Cottonmouths traveling to Florence for a game on March 4 and the Pride returning the favor by visiting the Snake Pit on March 20 to close out the season series.
