Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

COLUMBUS, GA -- The Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced the roster for the upcoming weekend pair of home games against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.

The Snakes will host Roanoke at the Columbus Civic Center on Friday and Saturday night, with puck drop at 7:30 PM both nights. The roster announcement comes one week to the day after the team was involved in a bus crash en route to face the Peoria Rivermen just 10 miles outside of the city of Peoria. Forwards (10) Andy Bathgate Keegan Bruce Nick Curry Derek Gingera Alex Kromm Evan Neugold Ben O'Quinn Craig Simchuk Craig Stahl Jonathan Turk

Defensemen (6) Brandon Fehd John Hubbard Levi Lind Tom Maldonado Petr Senkerik David Watt

Goaltenders (2) Spencer Bacon

Lind, Maldonado, and Stahl are all former Snakes players, veterans, and Columbus-area residents who have returned to the team to help in the recovery process following the bus accident last week. "All three of those guys are leaders," said Cottonmouths head coach Jerome Bechard. "Just to have that caliber of leadership in the locker room, it'll help really settle down the guys and help lead us where we need to be." The remaining players who were on the Columbus roster at the time of the bus accident are week to week with their injuries, with the exception of goaltender Brandon Jaeger, who is at home in Minnesota recovering with family. Bechard and newly named co-coach Orrin Hergott will both be behind the Snakes bench this weekend for the game against the Rail Yard Dawgs. Tickets for the weekend games are still available at the Columbus Civic Center box office and area TicketMaster outlets.
