MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kerr announced today the signing of two players, Ludlow Harris and Marc Thompson. With the signings of Harris and Thompson, Mayhem defenseman Ryan Michel has been placed on the 21-Day Injured Reserve.
Harris, 24, is in his fourth season as a professional, and this will be his second stint in the SPHL, as he played 28 games during the regular season for the Pensacola Ice Flyers last year. With Pensacola, the native of Richmond Hill, ON scored three goals and six assists while recording 55 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 187-pound forward/defenseman has 45 goals, 39 assists, and 84 points in 84 career games in the Federal Hockey League (FHL)- including six goals and nine assists in 23 games this season for the Danbury Titans and the Port Huron Prowlers.
Thompson, a native of Davison, MI, is in his second professional season, and this will be his first stint in the SPHL. In five games this season for the St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints (FHL), the 29-year-old defenseman/forward has three points. Last season, for the Danville Dashers (FHL), the 6-1, 185-pound Thompson scored 10 goals and eight assists in 15 games. Prior to his professional career, Thompson played at Davenport University at the ACHA level - recording 59 points in 42 career games.
As Harris and Thompson are now on the active roster, defenseman Ryan Michel has gone onto the 21-Day Injured Reserve. In 27 games this season, Michel has 11 points - all assists - and a plus-14 rating. The 24-year-old from Camillus, NY recorded eight goals and 12 assists in 44 games for the Mayhem last season.
Both Harris and Thompson will be in uniform for the Macon Mayhem on Friday night as they take on the Pensacola Ice Flyers at the Macon Coliseum. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 PM tomorrow night.
