
Ice Pilots Pick Up Five Out Of Six Points

The Pensacola Ice Pilots picked up five out of six points this past week defeating Louisiana at the Cajundome 5-2 on Friday night. Wes Mason, Brian Collins, Evgeni Artukhin, Tyler Beechey and Jean Francois Soucy scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Brain Eklund was the winning goalie.
The Ice Pilots picked up a point in a 6-5 shootout loss at home on Saturday night vs. Greensboro in front of the second largest home crowd of the season of 4,503 fans. Tyler Beechey scored two goals for the Ice Pilots. Brian Collins, Peter Fregoe and Corey Neilson also scored goals. Brian Eklund picked up the shootout loss in goal for the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots outshot Greensboro 55-45 in the game.
The Ice Pilots defeated Greensboro at home on Sunday 4-2. The Ice Pilots scored four goals in the first period and held on to win 4-2. Peter Fregoe, Wes Mason, Brad Cruikshank and Tyler Beechey scored the goals for the Ice Pilots. Brian Eklund was the winning goalie.
The Ice Pilots have a record of 24-16-6 for 54 points which is good for fifth place in the Central Division of the Western Conference.
The Ice Pilots play home this Saturday vs. Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play home to the Louisiana IceGators this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have a record of 5-5 vs. Louisiana this season including a record of 4-1 at home and 1-4 on the road. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record vs. Louisiana of 22-33-5 including a record of 16-10-4 at home and 6-23-1 on the road.
Cox Media to sponsor Mardi Gras Parade at the game on Saturday: The Ice Pilots will host a Mardi Gras Parade on ice during the intermission this Saturday sponsored by Cox Media. Fans attending the game will receive Mardi Gras beads.

Ice Pilots leaders: Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson leads the team with 52 points and leads the team with 41 assists. Neilson is first in points among defenseman in the ECHL . Neilson is first in the league with 31 power play points and first with 24 power play assists. Brian Eklund is second in the league with 23 wins and first in the league with 1429 saves. Eklund is first in the league with 2427 minutes played and tied for first in the league with 4 shootout wins. Greg Chambers is fifth among rookies with 39 points and third with 28 assists. Jean Francois Soucy is first among all rookies with 41 minor penalties and fifth with 122 penalty minutes. Peter Fregoe is third among rookies with 4 shorthanded points.
Ice Pilots in the Community: The Ice Pilots will be handing out citations that include tickets to a game for Gulf Breeze Safety week this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. The Ice Pilots will be teaming up with the Gulf Breeze Police Department at the Gulf Breeze Schools from 6:45 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Ice Pilots players will be signing autographs at Kooter Browns West End 98 this Tuesday night beginning at 6 p.m. Brad Cruikshank and Kent Sauer will be at the Milton Library on Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. signing autographs and talking hockey sponsored by Nextel. Ice Pilots players will be signing autographs at Napa Auto Parts in Gulf Breeze from Noon - 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Players will also watch the movie "Miracle" at the Rave Motion Theatre on Highway 29 this Friday at 5 p.m. and sign autographs after the movie.
Practice Schedule for the week: The Ice Pilots will have Monday off and are scheduled to practice in Biloxi on Tuesday. The Ice Pilots will have an off ice workout on Wednesday and Thursday. The Ice Pilots will practice at the Civic Center on Friday at 10:00 a.m. The Ice Pilots will have a pre skate on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and play home to Louis iana on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will travel to Ft. Myers on Sunday at 10 p.m. to begin a 7 game, 12 day road trip which will be the longest road trip of the season. Times and locations of the practices can possibly change during the week.
Nominated Player of the Week: Tyler Beechey has been nominated for the player of the week. Brian Eklund has been nominated for goalie of the week.
Mr. Manatee's Alumni game scheduled for Friday, March 5th at 6:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots are proud to announce the first ever Mr. Manatee's Alumni game to take place on Friday, March 5th at 6:05 p.m. The original game vs. San Diego will take place after the Mr. Manatee's Alumni game at 8:05 p.m. Fans will be able to see both games for the price of a regular season ticket to a game. Former players Shane Calder, Chad Quenneville, Scott Malone, Scott LaGrand, Kelly Hultgren, Nick Stajduhar and Andrew Rodgers along with former Head Coach Al Pedersen and former Assistant Coach George Kozak will participate in the Mr. Manatee's Alumni Game. Other former players could be added as we get closer to the date. Members of the Jr. Ice Pilots, the local media and members of the Senior League will also participate in the Mr. Manatee's Alumni game. The Alumni players and the Ice Pilots original players will be wearing special old timer sweaters sponsored by Mr. Mantee's A Casual Grille. The old timer sweaters will be auctioned off after the game at "The Hangar" with proceeds going to the Florida Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and the Children's Home Society.
Season Ticket Packages are available with year round payments: Full season ticket packages and 16 game packages are available with year round payments. The following is a list of the full season ticket plan with year round payments: $22 seats for floor and glass is $49.99 per month, $15 seats for sides is $35.99 per month, $13 seats for goal and lower upper level is $32.99 per month, $10 seats for upper level is $24.99 per month.
Group Tickets: Gr oup tickets are available at the Ice Pilots office. A group of 15-24 will receive $2 off per ticket and scoreboard recognition. A group of 25-99 will receive $2 off per ticket, scoreboard recognition, the group leader receive two free tickets with a minimum of 25 tickets purchased and group members are eligible to become an MVP. Each group member fills out and MVP card, (Cards are mailed with the group tickets), and drops the card in the MVP box at customer service before the game, and has the opportunity to win a valuable prize! Groups of 100 or more will receive scoreboard recognition, two free tickets, MVP cards plus $3 off per ticket and an opportunity to perform the national anthem or participate in the ceremonial puck drop (Subject to availability and approval).
Birthday Parties: Celebrate your birthday with the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots birthday party package includes hot dogs, cokes, cake and 10 $13 lower goal game tickets, a special gift pack for the birthday person delivered by Iceman, a birthday card signed by the Ice Pilots and scoreboard recognition. Assigned Players from Tampa Bay: The Ice Pilots currently have eight players on the roster assigned from Tampa Bay. They are goalies Brian Eklund, Evgeny Konstantinov and forward Dwayne Hay. Forward Jean Francois Soucy, forward Evgeni Arthukin forward Ryan Craig and defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof and Andreas Holmqvist are also assigned from Tampa. Ryan Craig and Evgeni Artukhin have been called up to Hershey.
Kerr's Kids: This season the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite six children and their escorts to a game. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission, a goodie bag for each child and SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. Accessible seating will be arranged for "Kerr's Kids" in sectio n 105. "Past, Present and Future Ice Pilots Golf Classic" is set for March 6th: The "Past, Present and Future Ice Pilots Golf Classic" is set for Saturday, March 6th at Scenic Hill Country Club with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. The golf classic will include Ice Pilots players and alumni. Proceeds of the golf classic will benefit the Jr. Ice Pilots.
Fans can golf with the Ice Pilots players and alumni. Cost is $85 per individual that includes awards banquet with dinner, live entertainment and mingling with the Ice Pilots players and alumni. The awards banquet and dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. Tickets just for the banquet and dinner without golf is $25.

The Ice Pilots away game that was postponed on January 17th at Mississippi because of a Toby Keith concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 2nd at 6:35 p.m.

The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on WCOA AM 1370 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Fans can meet the players, head coach Todd Gordon and members of the Ice Pilots office staff all season long. Forward Wes Mason and defenseman Brandon Fleenor will be the player guests tonight.
