Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
Last Weeks Highlights:
1/23/04 > Long Beach 3 vs. San Diego 4
The Ice Dogs seemed to outplay the Gulls Friday night, despite falling by a score of 4-3. San Diego jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Long Beach stormed back to tie with goals by Ken Tasker and Dan Vandermeer. The Gulls managed two more quick goals in the second period just 1:22 apart that would prove to hold up, despite Trevor Read scoring just 13 seconds later. The Ice Dogs held San Diego to no shots in the third period and only 13 for the game.
1/24/04 > Long Beach 5 vs. Fresno 3
The Ice Dogs remained perfect on home ice against the Fresno Falcons this season, winning a convincing game 5-3. Emotions ran high as the teams combined for 133 penalty minutes and there were four game misconducts handed out. Nolan Graham (2g, 1a) and Mark Gouett (1g, 2a) each combined for three points, and T.J. Aceti made 25 saves to lead the Ice Dogs to their fourth win in six games. The Ice Dogs are now 3-3 on the year versus Fresno, with the home team winning each game in the series.
This Weeks' Games:
1/29/04 > Long Beach @ San Diego
The Ice Dogs head back out on the road on Thursday to take on San Diego in a game that was rescheduled. Long Beach has managed only one win against the Gulls this season, a 1-0 win back on November 15. The Ice Dogs will be looking to resume their strong play of late by beating a team they outplayed a week earlier.
1/30/04 > Long Beach @ Las Vegas
The Ice Dogs will be looking for their first win of the season against the Las Vegas Wranglers when they travel to the Orleans Arena Friday night. The Wranglers have won all three meetings against the Ice Dogs, the last time exactly four weeks prior by a score of 5-3 at the Long Beach Arena.
1/31/04 > Long Beach vs. Idaho
It will be the third game in three nights against one of the top three teams in the Pacific Division for the Ice Dogs Saturday night, when they return home against the Idaho Steelheads. Long Beach has enjoyed recent success against the Steelheads, sweeping them in Idaho just two weeks ago. The Ice Dogs are 3-3 against Idaho this season. This is the final time the Steelheads will visit the Long Beach Arena in the regular season this year.
