
Cyclones Host Royals and Visit R-Men This Week

The Cyclones lost all three games at home this weekend to fall to 18-22-2. At four games under .500, the Clones established a new low water mark for the season. This week, the Clones look to rebound at home vs. the Reading Royals on Wednesday. On Friday and Saturday, the Clones are in Peoria for the last time this season. Game Recaps
Friday, January 23-Toledo 3 at Cincinnati 2
The Clones lost to the Storm in regulation for the first time this season on Friday at U.S. Bank Arena. After a scoreless first period, Kris Waltze scored for the Storm at the 1:54 mark of the second. Jade Galbraith would answer back for the Clones to tie the game at one with 5:43 left in the second. The game's first 40 minutes would end with the game tied at one. Alexandre Jacques would win the game for the Storm in the third. Jacques scored twice in the final frame (once shorthanded and once on the power play). In between Jacques' markers, Tom Rouleau scored his eighth goal of the season.
Saturday, January 24-Atlantic City 7 at Cincinnati 3
The defending Kelly Cup Champions smoked the Clones 7-3 in their first game back at U.S. Bank Arena since last season's playoffs. The Bullies scored five times in the first to tie an ECHL season high for goals in a first period. Linemates Mark Concannon and Tom Rouleau scored for the Clones in the first. In the second, Sam Paolini scored the lone goal to stretch the A.C. lead to 6-2. In the third, the teams exchanged goals. Luke Curtin scored for A.C. on a power play 59 seconds into the period. Nick Cammarata, in his Clones debut, scored the game's final goal on a power play.
Sunday, January 25-Atlantic City 4 at Cincinnati 1
The Clones finished their season series with the Bullies with a 4-1 loss at U.S. Bank Arena. Aaron Foster scored twice in the first period for A.C. Luke Curtin added a second period marker. In the third, Jade Galbraith scored his second goal of the weekend before Sam Paolini capped the scoring with his 12th goal of the year.
This Week
Wednesday, January 28-Reading at Cincinnati
The Clones meet the Reading Royals for the second time this season on Wednesday at U.S. Bank Arena. The Clones lost to the Royals in Reading 5-2 on December 19th. Reagan Rome, who was later traded to the Royals, scored his first goal of the season in the Clones loss. Ryan Brindley also added a marker for the Clones. Wednesday's match-up features the first game for Clones All-Star Jason Maleyko vs. his former team.
Frdiay, January 30 and Saturday, January 31-Cincinnati at Peoria
The Clones make their last trip of the season to Carver Arena on Friday and Saturday. The Clones have split the first four meetings of the year with the R-Men. ECHL All-Star Game MVP Randy Rowe has scored 10 of his team-leading 25 goals vs. the Clones. Garrett Prosofsky leads the Clones with nine points (five goals and four assists) in eight games vs. the R-Men. The last time the Clones were in Peoria, Prosofsky scored both Clones goals in a 6-2 Peoria win.
Clones to Watch
-The line of Tom Rouleau, Mark Concannon and Richard Naumann combined for nine points in three games this weekend.
-Newcomer Nick Cammarata continues a trend of Clones newcomers performing well in their first game. Cammarata had a goal in his Clones debut on Saturday. In Jade Galbraith's first game with the Clones, he had a pair of goals. Tyler Deis had three assists in his first game with the Clones. Deis would go on a four-game point streak that resulted in Deis being named ECHL Player of the Week.
-The Clones have lost 150 man games to injury. Dean Stork, Mark Concannon and Terry Marchant are the only Clones to appear in every game.
