Wranglers win third straight

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers came out of the all-star break with a 6-3 win in Fresno on Sunday. Las Vegas has three straight wins dating back to January 13th. The Wranglers (24-11-5) will host the Pacific Division leading San Diego Gulls on Tuesday night. Las Vegas will welcome the Long Beach Ice Dogs to the Orleans Arena on Friday. The Wranglers will wrap up their week with the Fresno Falcons on Saturday. All games start at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.

Fresno, CA – The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Fresno Falcons at the Save Mart Center 6-3 on Sunday night. Eric Schneider registered the first hat trick in Wranglers history. Cam Bristow, Chris Wheaton and Jeff Attard also scored in the win. Jason McBain added three assists in the victory. Rookie goaltender Brent Krahn made 25 saves for his sixth victory of the season. Wranglers' winger Chris Kenady was held scoreless, ending his league-leading 11-game scoring streak. Las Vegas sits in third place with 53 points in the Pacific Division. The Wranglers set several season highs in the game including; goals in one period (4), assists in one period (7), points in one period (11), points in one game (16), assists in one game (10), and goals by an individual in one game (3 - Eric Schneider).

All Good Streaks come to an End

Winger Chris Kenady's streak of 11 consecutive games with at least one point ended Sunday in Fresno. Kenady's streak is the team's longest scoring streak of the season. In the last 11 games dating back to December 27th, Kenady scored nine goals and added ten assists for 19 points. The longest current streak is three games by Greg Day. Goaltender Marc Magliarditi snapped his streak of 11 consecutive games in net with the return off Brent Krahn. Magliarditi played all 11 games from December 28th to January 17th.

Kelly and Wright Get Recalled

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Saturday forwards Justin Kelly and Doug Wright were recalled to the American Hockey League. Wright played Saturday night for the AHL's Chicago Wolves picking up an assist at Utah. The Wranglers rookie then returned to Fresno in time for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Kelly headed to Massachusetts to play for the Lowell Lock Monsters. The Abbottsford, BC native leads all Wranglers rookies in scoring with 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in 31 games. Kelly recently played in the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star game.

The Gulls won the last meeting 5-2 in San Diego on January 3rd. San Diego leads the Pacific Division with 55 points and a .705 winning percentage. The Gulls are on a five-game winning streak. Mark Pederson is tied for the league lead with 26 goals this season. The Gulls are 9-6-0 on the road this year.

Long Beach – (13-24-2) – LV leads Series 3-0-0

Long Beach is in sixth place of the Pacific Division. The Ice Dogs are 4-12-2 on the road this year. Long Beach is 4-6-0 in their last 10 games.

Fresno – (11-24-5) – LV leads Series 4-0-0

Fresno is 6-16-1 this year on the road. The Falcons sit in last place of the Pacific Division.
