LAST WEEK: The Florence Pride went 0-1-1 last week, and had their winless streak extended to four games (0-3-1). For the season, the Pride are 14-20-6 for 34 points, and remain in seventh place in the Southern Division. Florence trails South Carolina by 12 points for the final playoff spot in the division.

Friday, January 23 @ Columbus Cottonmouths 3 PRIDE 1

Florence found itself trailing early in the contest, as Columbus' Rumun Ndur tallied just 56 seconds into the game. The Pride tied the game 9:25 into the second period, when Wes Goldie found the back of the net off of a great feed from Brian Reaney. But, the Cottonmouths would go ahead for good with just 31 seconds remaining in the second period on a power-play goal by Ryan Risidore. Marc-Andre Thinel added a power-play tally of his own at 12:41 of the third period to set the final.

Saturday, January 24 @ Columbia Inferno 5 PRIDE 4 (SO)

It was a wild first period between the Pride and the Inferno as the teams combined for seven goals. Florence had a 2-0 lead just 2:56 into the contest on goals by Craig Brunel and Bobby Russell (PPG). Columbia's Paul Cabana cut the lead in half at the 3:41mark, but the Pride got the goal back just 22 seconds later on an unassisted tally by Brian Reaney. The Inferno tied it at three, getting goals by Dennis Vial and Robin Carruthers midway through the frame. Before the period ended, Florence went back on top, getting a power-play tally from Jeff Szwez. It remained 4-3 until early in the third when the Inferno tied it on a controversial goal. Matt Underhill stopped Cabana's shot, and the rebound shot up in the air. Ryan Petz gloved it, dropped the puck on the ice, and it rolled into the net. Referee Jim Combs immediately waived the goal off, but after conferring with the linesmen, ruled it a goal. In the shootout, the Pride scored on one of their five attempts, while the Inferno tallied twice to pick up the extra point.
