LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 0-2-1 OVERALL RECORD: 11-24-5, 27 pts.

Jan. 23 vs. Bakersfield, 3-2 Shootout Loss – The Falcons battled back from two one-goal deficits with Brad Mehalko's game-tying goal coming with under six minutes to play in regulation. Still tied at two following five minutes of overtime, Fresno settled for a single point in the standings after losing in a shootout by the final score of 3-2.

Jan. 24 @ Long Beach, 5-3 Loss – Fresno was looking to snap an 11-game winless streak on the road but could not overcome the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Scott Borders, Blair Clarance and Boris Protsenko all scored for the Falcons in a 5-3 loss that dropped the club into last place in the Pacific Division.

Jan. 25 vs. Las Vegas, 6-3 Loss – The Falcons got off to a flying start against the Las Vegas Wranglers, scoring just :23 seconds into the hockey game and bolting to a 3-1 lead in the first 12:27. The Wranglers awoke, though, and scored three times in the final five minutes of the period to lead 4-3 after one. Fresno never recovered from the opening-period collapse, eventually losing 6-3.

THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES

Tuesday, Jan. 27 @ Bakersfield, 7 p.m. – The Falcons attempt to halt their 12-game road winless streak against the Condors at Centennial Garden.

Friday, Jan. 30 vs. Bakersfield, 7 p.m. – Fresno hosts the Condors at Save Mart Center where the first 2,500 fans will receive a Jason Weaver Bobblehead Key Chain courtesy of Yellow Book.

Saturday, Jan. 31 @ Las Vegas, 7 p.m. – The Falcons finish the month on the road in Sin City, where they look to defeat the Wranglers for the first time in five tries.

NOTES

· Brad Mehalko registered points in all three games this past week, totaling two goals and four assists. He is second on the team in scoring with 29 points (11g-18a).

· Blair Clarance scored a goal in his fourth straight game on Sunday, establishing a new team season-high goal streak.

· Fresno is 17th (16.3%) on the power play this season and 22nd (81.7%) on the penalty kill. They lead the league in penalty minutes per game, averaging 30.1 minutes per contest.

· The Falcons begin the week in last place in the Pacific Division, one point behind the sixth-place Long Beach Ice Dogs and three points behind the fifth-place Bakersfield Condors. They are currently 24 points out of the division's fourth and final playoff position.
