Ice Dogs flushed by Aces

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs (23 -42- 5) faced off against the Alaska Aces (37 -27- 6) on Wednesday night at the Long Beach Arena. This was the final home game of the 2003-2004 ECHL season for the dogs. Their opponent however will be entering the playoffs after their last regular season game.

Alaska started off the scoring when Wes Dorey snuck the puck past T.J. Aceti at the 10:57 mark of the first period. Long Beach wasted no time as Alex Kim tied things up with a breakaway shorthanded goal 12:33 into the first. Less than a minute later Alaska struck again when Chris Lipsett scored his 21st goal of the season 13:13 into the first period.

The Ice Dogs answered back to tie the game 2-2 at the 15:49 mark of the first. After 12:42 in the second, the Aces regained control when Charles Linglet wrapped around the backside of the goal and scored. Only 6:56 into the third period, the Aces took control when Mark Smith slipped the puck past by Aceti to make the score 4-2.
