Curtin, Stirling Bring Bullies More Honors

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL have announced that forward Luke Curtin and goaltender Scott Stirling have been selected to the 2003-04 All-ECHL First Team. The announcement came earlier this afternoon from the ECHL offices in Princeton. Curtin and Stirling are the first Boardwalk Bullies to be named All-ECHL.

Curtin, 26, leads the Bullies in scoring and has set career-highs this season with 33 goals and 78 points. The Roseville, MN native currently is eighth in the ECHL scoring race and fourth overall in power play points with 34. He was named the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for the week of January 5, and enjoyed a season-high 8-game scoring streak from February 1 through February 20.

Stirling, 26, has gone 31-13-5 in 49 games with an ECHL-best 1.91 goals against average and .933% save percentage. Stirling leads the league in shootout wins this season with 6 and has 4 shutouts to his credit. On February 20, he set the single-season franchise record for wins by a goaltender with his 25th victory of the year at Reading. If the season ended today, the Hull, MA native would finish with the second lowest goals against average and third highest save percentage in ECHL history.

Curtin and Stirling are both currently on loan to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Curtin has 2 assists in 4 games for the Sound Tigers, while Stirling is 1-0 with a shutout this season in the AHL for the Portland Pirates.

The Bullies battle the Toledo Storm at 7:05PM on Friday at Boardwalk Hall. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will have a chance to win a Ford Explorer sponsored by Gentilini Ford. The first 2,500 fans through the gates receive a 2003-04 Bullies Souvenir Puck presented by BenchMark Mortage.
