
Titans sign Markusen, Allen goes to Binghamton

TRENTON, NJ (April 1, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today they have signed rookie defenseman Joe Markusen.
Markusen â 6'0", 193 lbs. â was a four-year letterman with Michigan State, compiling 3 goals and 27 assists in 155 games. The 23-year old native of Grafton, ND was the only senior on a Spartans team that made it to the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional this season before being eliminated by University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Prior to his collegiate career, Markusen spent two seasons in the United Hockey League with the Lincoln Stars, netting 44 points (10g, 34a) in 96 games. Markusen will wear #5 and make his debut Friday night against the Wheeling Nailers.
In a separate move, goaltender Andrew Allen was recalled by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. This is his fifth call-up of the season. Allen is 24-16-4 for the Titans this year with a 2.56 and .917 save percentage.
The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans host the Wheeling Nailers this Friday, April 2nd at Sovereign Bank Arena. Game time is 7:30pm. The Titans will host the Johnstown Chiefs on Saturday, April 3rd at 7:00pm for the final game of the regular season. Saturday is Frisbee Giveaway Night courtesy of Mercer County Community College.
