
Garnett Recalled to Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Michael Garnett has been recalled to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League for the second time this season.
Named the ITECH ECHL Goaltender of the Week for last week where the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native posted two shutouts and lowered is goals against average to from 2.27 to 2.14 to become the third three-time winner in ECHL history. Garnett also helped the Gladiators clinch a Central Division playoff berth with a dramatic 4-3 shootout win over Greensboro on Tuesday.
Under contract to the Atlanta Thrashers, and drafted in the second round of the 2001 NHL entry Draft, #80th overall by Atlanta, Garnett turned aside 24 of 26 shots in the second period of the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All Star Game in Peoria, Illinois .
In his first call-up with Chicago from January 15th to March 26th, Garnett appeared in 12 games with the Wolves where the netminder posted a 6-3-2 record and a .910 save percentage.
Garnett should be available for the Wolves in their 7:30 p.m. start in Grand Rapids on Friday against the Griffins.
