Hitmen Tip Warriors in Shootout

Moose Jaw, SK - The Calgary Hitmen opened a four-game road trip with a 3-2 shootout win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday night at Mosaic Place.

Josh Prokop scored the winner in round four of the shootout after Dakota Krebs notched the tying goal for Calgary with 2:35 remaining.

Kaden Elder also found the back of the net for the Hitmen who extend their winning streak to five games.

Moose Jaw, which never trailed until the end, received markers from Tristin Langan and Keenan Taphorn.

Both goaltenders were named stars as Jack McNaughton made 33 saves for Calgary and Adam Evanoff recorded 35 stops for the Warriors.

Calgary, now 20-16-3-1, moves six points ahead of Brandon for the final Eastern Conference wildcard playoff spot.

The Hitmen resume the road trip with a stop in Saskatoon against the Blades on Friday, Jan. 11. It is then off to Prince Albert for a date with the Raiders on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Calgary wraps up the swing on Jan. 19 against the Edmonton Oil Kings before returning home to welcome Red Deer to the 'Dome on Jan. 20. It's Sunday Funday where activities include face painters, concourse activities, giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket. Sunday Funday features a specially priced $9.99 ticket for kids 12 and under and a $14.99 ticket for adults (plus applicable fees and taxes).
