West Valley City, Utah - The Gwinnett Gladiators (36-24-2-1, 20-13-0-0 road) defeated the Utah Grizzlies 5-1 Wednesday night at Maverik Center in the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Utah welcomed four new skaters to the lineup from Tuesday's trade with San Francisco as Sebastien Trudeau and Jonathan Lessard setup Utah's lone goal from Berkley Scott (5) with 1:42 left in regulation.

"That's a tough team and that's a tough game," said Grizzlies Assistant Coach Greg McCauley. "We're looking forward to getting our new guys on the ice again tomorrow at practice to get ready for the weekend. We're staying positive, we want to turn the page and bring a positive atmosphere to the guys and to ourselves."

Gwinnett took a 1-0 lead 4:15 into the first period. Utah followed by rattling off 14-straight shots and drawing two power-plays before falling behind 2-0 with less than 2 seconds to go in the frame.

The Gladiators made it 3-0 with 5:34 left in the second on their first power-play of the night and added two in the third period.

Adam Morrison stopped 27 of 32 shots in goal for Utah. Utah outshot Gwinnett 37-32 in the game, but couldn't beat Phoenix prospect Louie Domingue on more than one shot.

The Grizzlies host Colorado Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.
