
Stingrays Add Forward Peter Boyd from Bakersfield

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has received forward Peter Boyd from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for defenseman Art Bidlevskii and forward Phil Mangan.
Boyd, 25, skated in 50 games with the Condors adding 18 goals and 11 assists for 29 points. Last season, the Cambridge-Narrows, New Brunswick, product buried 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) in 61 games in Bakersfield. A second-year pro, Boyd attended Ohio State University for four seasons totaling 113 points (39 goals, 74 assists) in 159 games. After his senior season, Boyd saw action in the American Hockey League with the Lake Erie Monsters picking up one assist in 11 games. Boyd is reunited with former Condor and current Stingrays forward Robby Dee.
Bidlevskii, 21, dressed in 44 games with the Stingrays scoring one goal and three assists for four points. Mangan, 26, joined the Stingrays in a trade with the Stockton Thunder earlier this season and appeared in 24 contests adding 11 points (four goals, seven assists).
The Stingrays kick off a three-game home weekend series against the Greenville Road Warriors on Friday, March 8 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
