Stingrays Receive ECHL Rights of Defenseman Ryan Grimshaw from Trenton

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has received the ECHL rights of defenseman Ryan Grimshaw from the Trenton Titans. The transaction completes the future considerations portion of the Mike Ullrich trade made earlier this season.

Grimshaw, 23, is currently with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League and dressed in 12 games netting no points. With the Titans, the Rochester, New York, native recorded six points (three goals, three assists) in 23 games. Currently in his first full professional season, Grimshaw attended Harvard University for four seasons totaling 26 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 121 contests.

The Stingrays kick off a three-game home weekend series against the Greenville Road Warriors on Friday, March 8 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
