Greenville Grrrowl News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl of the East Coast Hockey League announced on Wednesday the re-signing of high-scoring forward MARTIN MASA. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Last season, Masa led the Grrrowl in scoring with 24 goals and 68 points in 69 regular season games. The 6'1", 210 pound native of the Czech Republic also registered 17 points in 17 playoff games as Greenville won the 2002 ECHL Kelly Cup Championship.

"Grrrowl fans know how important Masa is to this team", said ScheerSports Chairman and Chief Executive Officer CARL SCHEER. "He was a big part of our championship team last season and it's great to have him back. John (Marks) and Nick (Vitucci) have done a great job building this year's team, and I look forward to another exciting season."

"We're obviously thrilled to have Marty back", said Grrrowl VP of Hockey Operations and Head Coach JOHN MARKS. "He has the ability to be the best offensive player in this league when he's on top of his game. His leadership skills will be important for some of our younger players this season, too."

Training camp for the 2002-2003 seasons starts this Friday at the BI-LO Center, and the regular season opener is scheduled for Friday, October 11th at Charlotte.

Greenville Grrrowl season tickets, mini-plans, flex packs and individual game tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased at the BI-LO Center Box Office and all TicketMaster outlets. For more information, call (864) 467-GRRR or log onto www.grrrowl.com.
