
Blueliner Doug Nolan Agrees to Terms

The Dayton Bombers Professional Hockey Team has announced that it has signed defenseman Doug Nolan to a contract. Nolan joins center Fred Slukynsky and wingers Chris Thompson and Andrew Williamson as players who have agreed to terms for the 2002-2003 campaign.
Nolan, 26, has played the last three seasons with the Dayton Bombers. A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, Nolan had five goals, four assists, and 166 penalty minutes in 60 games played with the Bombers in 2001-2002. In the playoffs, Nolan scored the game-winning goal in the Bombers' 3-1 victory over the Johnstown Chiefs in Game Two of "The Hara Revisited 'Old Time Hockey'" Northwest Division Final Series.
Nolan, a four-year product of UMass-Lowell, played 15 total games with the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks during the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 campaigns. Last season, Nolan was one of 19 different Bombers summoned to the next level, appearing in seven games with with the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers (0-1-1- 4 PIM).
The Bombers, who will be conducting a "Town Hall Meeting" open to fans, season ticketholders, and corporate partners/local businesspeople on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Nutter Center Berry Room, earlier today announced that single game tickets for the 2002-2003 season will be on sale beginning this coming Tuesday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. For further ticket information, contact the Dayton Bombers at (937) 775-4747 or the Nutter Center Box Office at (937) 775-4789.
The team will begin its 12th season of ECHL play at the Nutter Center on Friday, October 11 (7:30 p.m) against the Johnstown Chiefs. The Bombers will be unveiling their 2002 Northern Conference Playoff Championship and 2002 Northwest Division Title banners at a pre-game ceremony on that date. Training camp for the Dayton Bombers begins on Sunday, September 29, with a free admission, open-to-the-public, "Kids' Exhibition Game" scheduled against the Toledo Storm at the Nutter Center on Wednesday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m.
