Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs mascots Iron Dog and Iron Puppy announced today that the Chiefs home exhibition game against the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday, October 5th has been designated as the Cambria County Humane Society Night.

Tickets for the game are general admission and the cost is $5. In this joint effort by the Chiefs and the Cambria County War Memorial Arena, $1 will go the Cambria County Humane Society for each ticket sold at game.

"I really think it is wonderful that the Chiefs and the War Memorial are thinking about the animals in the community. There are so many causes in the community that are geared towards people but sometimes the animals are left out," said Dee Black, Director of Cambria County Humane Society. "It is always nice when someone like the Chiefs and War Memorial approach us for something like this, we are very fortunate to have people like that in the community."

The Chiefs and the CCWM are also asking that fans bring in a bag of dog food that can go to the humane society. A table will be setup in the lobby for the donations.

"The humane society was someone we really have not worked with before. The Iron Dog and Iron Puppy were the one's who thought of the idea! We always say we are more than what you see on the ice, the Johnstown Chiefs are also here to help and serve the community," said Chiefs Director of Business Operations Jim Brazill.

Chiefs season tickets are still available. For more information call (814) 539-1799 or 1-800-SLAPSHOT.
