September 25, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have announced the return of the Adult Hockey League to Centennial Garden this season.
The league runs throughout the hockey season, with 13 games for each team. The schedule varies, but the majority of games will take place on weekday evenings after 8:30pm. The number of teams is contingent upon the number of players registered. The cost is $235, and membership to USA Hockey is required, which is an additional $25 and lasts for one year. The fee is lower for goaltenders, at $115.
"The Adult Hockey League is great," said Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly. "There are players of all skill levels that join us on the ice. We have some beginners playing and some guys with pro experience as well. It's a great chance to get out on the ice and have some fun."
The first Adult Hockey League game is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th. Dates and times are subject to change due to availability. Participants must have full hockey gear to skate. For more information or to register, contact Kevin Bartl or Greg May with the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825).
TRAINING CAMP SCHEDULE CHANGE
The Condors had previously expected to spend the entire second week of Training Camp on the road in Valencia, but a recent event change at the Garden will benefit the team. Non-hockey events on Sunday and Tuesday, October 6th and 8th, will keep the Condors off the ice in Bakersfield. On October 8th, the team will practice at the Valencia Ice Station, but on Wednesday, October 9th, the team will practice from 1:00-2:30pm at Centennial Garden. The Condors will skate at the Garden from 10:00-11:30am on October 10th and 11th.
The 2002-03 season opener is 17 days away with the Condors hosting the reigning Taylor Cup Champion Fresno Falcons at Centennial Garden on Saturday, October 12th. Season tickets are now available, with packages starting as low as $42. For more information, contact the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825), or visit the Condors office at Centennial Garden.
