Grizzlies Galiardi Begins Food Drive Initiative
December 30, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies forward Rylan Galiardi is teaming up with the Granger Christian Church and Granger Pantry to collect cans of food starting with Tuesday's game against Las Vegas and at all Grizzlies home games during the month of January.
Galiardi's goal is to collect 10,000 cans of food at the 10 Grizzlies games spanning from December 31-January 29. There will be bins in the grand lobby at Maverik Center for fans to deposit their canned goods for the pantry to help serve the West Valley City community.
"We looked at this as a great opportunity for the Grizzlies organization and Grizzlies fans to work together and make a positive impact in our community," said Galliardi. "There is a strong push around the holidays to help feed those in need, but we wanted to ensure that we can make a push after the holidays as well. I want to thank everyone for their support and donations ahead of time, because I believe this will be very successful initiative."
The food pantry started 11 years ago by Granger Christian Church served nearly 1,000 people last month.
The Grizzlies return to Maverik Center Tuesday, December 31 at 6 p.m. For New Year's Eve, fans can take advantage of $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Fries, $2 Soft Drinks and $2 Draft Beers.
Ticket packages for the 2013-2014 season are still on sale and start at just $29. For more information, visit http://www.utahgrizzlies.com or call (801) 988-7825.
