Condors extend winning streak to three games

The Bakersfield Condors have enjoyed a turnaround over the last several weeks, posting an 8-3-0 record over their last 11 games, and winning three straight, to move to 11-15-1 for 23 points and into seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

Bakersfield won each of its two outings last week, starting with a 4-3 victory against Las Vegas on Thursday. Four different Condors found the back of the net in the win while Nicholas Tremblay added a pair of assists. Laurent Brossoit recorded the win in goal with 20 saves.

The Condors returned to the ice on Sunday and picked up a 3-0 win over Idaho. Tremblay, Jordan Knackstedt and Joel Broda scored goals, with Knackstadt and Broda also adding assists, and Brossoit picked up the shutout, stopping all 23 Steelheads' shots, including 13 in the third period.

Brossoit leads the ECHL with four shutouts (two with Alaska and two with Bakersfield), and in his four starts with the Condors has posted a 3-1-0 record with a 1.25 goals-against average and a save percentage of .947.

Broda tops all Condors scorers with 11 goals and 21 points, and he has posted 18 points (8g-10a) in his last 11 games. Knackstedt and Michael Neal are tied for second on the club with 17 points (8g-9a) while Chris Collins ranks fourth with 16 points (7g-9a) and Gary Steffes rounds out the top five with 12 points (5g-7a).

The Condors open a four-game road trip this week, visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday and Colorado on Friday and Saturday.

Divisions

Atlantic Division

- Rob Bellamy set a new team record on Saturday by playing his 161st game as a Jackal.

- The Jackals will be playing on the road on New Year's Eve for the fifth straight season.

- Elmira visits South Carolina on Tuesday and Wheeling on Friday before hosting the Nailers on Saturday.

- All three of Ethan Cox ' goals have come in the last 11 games.

- Reading is 3-0-1 in its last four road games.

- The Royals are at Wheeling on Tuesday, Toledo on Friday and Cincinnati on Saturday.

- Mike Ratchuk is tied for second among defensemen with 18 points (7g-11a).

- The Nailers are 9-1-2 when scoring first.

- Wheeling hosts Reading on Tuesday and Elmira on Friday before visiting the Jackals on Saturday.

North Division

- Chris Reed is tied for second in plus-minus among defensemen at +16.

- The Cyclones are third with 3.46 goals per game.

- Cincinnati is at Kalamazoo on Tuesday and Friday and hosts Reading on Saturday.

- Donnie Harris has been even or plus in six straight games.

- Evansville has scored six power-play goals in the last five games.

- The IceMen host Gwinnett on Tuesday and Fort Wayne on Friday and visit the Komets on Saturday.

- Mike Embach has eight points (4g-4a) in seven games with Fort Wayne.

- The Komets are second with 33.63 shots per game.

- Fort Wayne hosts Toledo on Tuesday, is at Evansville on Friday and hosts the IceMen on Saturday and Kalamazoo on Sunday.

- Jordan Binnington has won five out of his last six starts.

- Kalamazoo is 6-1-0 on the road in December.

- The K-Wings are at Toledo on Monday, host Cincinnati on Tuesday and Friday and Toledo on Saturday before travelling to Fort Wayne on Sunday.

- David Gilbert has four points (2g-2a) in his last two games.

- The Walleye have had four sellout crowds this season.

- Toledo hosts Kalamazoo on Monday, is at Fort Wayne on Tuesday, hosts Reading on Friday and visits Kalamazoo on Saturday.

South Division

- Brandon MacLean is tied for the league lead with four game-winning goals.

- The Everblades are 14-3-1 when scoring first.

- Florida is at Orlando on Monday, Greenville on Friday and Gwinnett on Saturday.

- Justin Vaive is on a nine-game point streak with (8g-7a).

- Greenville is 10-4-2 when out-shooting its opponent.

- The Road Warriors host Florida on Friday and visit South Carolina on Saturday.

- Kurtis Bartliff is tied for third among rookies with 10 goals.

- The Gladiators are the league's second-least penalized team with 11.62 penalty minutes per game.

- Gwinnett visits Evansville on Tuesday, hosts South Carolina on Thursday, is at South Carolina on Friday and hosts Florida on Saturday.

- Taylor Matson scored in his Orlando debut on Saturday against Florida.

- Orlando is 7-3-0 when leading after two periods.

- The Solar Bears host Florida on Monday and Utah on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

- Peter Boyd is on a six-game point streak (2g-7a).

- The Stingrays lead the ECHL with 21 wins and 45 points.

- Peter Sivak is tied for fifth with 21 assists.

- Trent Daavettila is tied for the league lead with 36 points (12g-24a).

- Colorado is tied for fifth with 3.30 goals per game.

- The Eagles host Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday.

- Mitch Wahl leads the ECHL in power-play points (18) and power-play assists (15).

- The Steelheads lead the ECHL with 38 third-period goals

- Idaho is at Alaska on Friday and Saturday.

- Brent Gwidt is second among rookies with 79 shots on goal.

- Utah is sixth with 27.50 shots-against per game.

- The Grizzlies host Las Vegas on Tuesday and are at Orlando on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Pacific Division
