Grizzlies Fall In Boise

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-1 Wednesday night at Qwest Arena.

Idaho led 1-0 after one period with Greg Rallo getting the only goal at 8:20 of the period. Utah outshot the Steelheads 5-4 in the first.

The Steelheads took control in the second; adding three five-on-five goals, outshooting Utah 17-10. Idaho scored their first two goals within 48 seconds of each other at 3:56 and 4:44 of the period to take control of the game. Goaltender Brett Jaeger was relieved by Mike Mole following the third Idaho goal after he allowed three goals on 12 shots.

The Grizzlies lone goal came four-on-four with Andy Sertich setting up a Micheal Haley (5th goal of the season) redirection to make the game 5-1 at 9:06 of the third. Idaho reclaimed their five-goal lead 42 seconds later on another Greg Rallo goal.

The game featured five fights and over 100 minutes of combined penalties.

The Grizzlies meet the Steelheads again Friday in Boise at 7:10 p.m. The three-game series reverts to the E-Center for a 7:05 p.m. face-off Saturday.
