
Wranglers School Condors 4-3 in a Shootout

Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (8-2-0, 16 Points) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (4-6-3, 11 points) 4-3 in a shootout at Rabobank Arena on Wednesday afternoon. Forward Bruce Mulherin scored the sudden death shootout goal to lift the Wranglers over the Condors on school field trip day. Defenseman Gerry Burke scored a power-play goal and added an assist as Las Vegas won for the fourth straight game. Forwards Adam Cracknell and Curtis Fraser also scored in the victory. Goalie Daniel Manzato stopped 24 of 27 Bakersfield shots and five of six in the shootout, improving to 4-0-0 on the season. Center Tyler Mosienko had two assists as the Wranglers moved to 24-8-1 all-time against the Condors. Las Vegas will return to Rabobank Arena on Friday at 7:00 pm.
In the first period, Bakersfield struck early with Brett Lutes snapping a wrist shot past Las Vegas goalie Daniel Manzato at 7:53, giving the Condors a 1-0 lead. The Wranglers countered and tied the game at one with just under three minutes to go in the opening period. Defenseman Gerry Burke moved into the right-wing circle and snapped a shot to the net. Center Curtis Fraser tipped the puck past Bakersfield goalie Yutaka Fukufuji at 17:55 for his second goal of the season.
In the second period, Bakersfield jumped back in front with a 2-1 lead just 5:00 into the middle frame. Forward Mark Derlago poked in a rebound on the power play for his third goal of the season. The Condors goal snapped a string of 22 straight penalty kills for Las Vegas. The Wranglers tied the game at two just 2:57 later as Adam Cracknell tallied his team-leading eighth goal of the season. Center Tyler Mosienko sprung Cracknell over the right-wing Bakersfield blueline as the second-year winger rifled a wrist shot past Fukufuji at 7:57.
In the third period, Burke gave Las Vegas the lead with a blast from the blueline on the power play at 13:59. His second goal of the season lifted the Wranglers to a 3-2 lead. The Condors tallied a late power-play goal to tie the game at three. Defenseman Joe Dustin scored his fourth goal of the season with 4:11 remaining to force overtime.
After a scoreless overtime the teams headed to a shootout. Conddors forward Tim Konsorada scored on the first shot of the shootout but, Las Vegas goalie Daniel Manzato stuffed the rest of the Condors paving the way for the victory. Tyler Mosienko scored in the third round and Bruce Mulherin added the eventual shootout winner in the sixth round.
The Wranglers continue on the team's five-game road trip before returning home to host the Phoenix RoadRunners on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:05 pm. Las Vegas will play in Bakersfield on Friday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 5:00 pm.
