Columbia Inferno News Release

The Columbia Inferno have acquired winger Liam Huculak (HOOCH-ah-lak) from the Idaho Steelheads for future considerations, Inferno head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today.

Huculak, 24, has 14 penalty minutes in two games with the Steelheads this season, his first as a professional.

"Liam will provide a gritty, physical presence to our forward corps," Mann said. "His strong skating skills and physical presence will be an asset, particularly in our building."

The six-foot-five, 220-pound native of Lethbridge, Alberta played from 2003-04 through the 2006-07 seasons with Colgate University of the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Huculak tallied 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) and 95 penalty minutes in 133 career games with the Raiders.

Huculak was named captain of the Raiders during his senior season. He also received the team's Terry Slater Award, which is presented each year to the senior whose leadership and dedication left the largest impact on the Colgate program.
