Goren, Herr lead P-Bruins to win

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins extended their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1-0) with a 7-3 victory over the St. John's Maple Leafs on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence. The win improved the Black and Gold's record to 6-2-2-0 (14 points) and kept them atop the Eastern Conference standings. The seven goals scored by Providence marked a team season-high.

Providence right wing Lee Goren (2-1-3) and center Matt Herr (1-2-3) each extended their point streaks to four games. Goren has 6-5-11 totals over that span, while Herr has 3-6-9 totals. Right wings Martin Samuelsson (3), Pat Leahy (2) and Brantt Myhres (1) also scored, as did left wing Jay Henderson (1). Center Keith Aucoin assisted on two goals and has 1-3-4 totals in his last two games, while defenseman Rich Brennan had one assist. The 29-year-old Bruin captain now has 0-7-7 totals in his last six games.

Goaltender Andrew Raycroft stopped 25 shots in the victory. His season record now stands at 5-2-1. The 22-year-old native of Belleville, Ontario ranks third in franchise history with 38 wins and 2,449 saves.

The Bruins hit the road on Saturday night to face off with the Springfield Falcons. Catch all the action live on WDDZ AM-550. The teams complete the home-and-home series on Sunday afternoon in Providence at 4:05 p.m.
