Flames Make Roster Moves

Saint John, NB – The Saint John Flames Hockey Club today announced several roster moves.

Goaltender Peter Aubry and defenceman Ian Manzano have been signed to Professional Tryout Agreements.

Aubry began the 2002-03 season with the Johnstown Chiefs in the East Coast Hockey League appearing in 6 games with a 3-3-0 records with a 3.14 GAA and a ‘910 save percentage. The 6'3", 200 lb native of Windsor, Ontario is anticipated to be available for the Flames game tomorrow night.

Manzano also began the season with the Chiefs seeing action in seven games recording 5 assists and 8 penalty minutes. The 6'1", 190 lb native of Dorval, Quebec is expected to be available for the Flames game tomorrow night.

Goaltender Nadew Befekadu has been signed to an Amateur Tryout Agreement. Befekadu has been playing with the Lancaster Aquarius Thundercats of the Southern New Brunswick Senior Hockey League. In 2 games, the 6'0" 200 lb native of Paris, France, has posted 2 wins with a 2.90 GAA. Befekadu will join the Flames for tonight's contest. Defenceman Jay Langager has been assigned to the Johnstown Chiefs. Langager had appeared in 2 games, including his pro-debut, with Saint John this season.

Centre Joe Goodenow has been released from his Amateur Tryout Agreement.

The Flames host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in back-to-back action at Harbour Station tonight at 7:30 p.m. and again tomorrow, Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. Saturday is designated "Delta-Brunswick Showoff Night" and "School Night". Tickets for these games and all November, December and January home games are currently available at the Harbour Station Box Office, the Imperial Theater Box Office, selected Irving Locations (Main Street West, Champlain Heights, Millidgeville, Marr Road, Hampton and Grand Bay), and Charge-by-Phone at 657-1234 or 1-800-267-2800.

The 2002-03 season marks the Saint John Flames' tenth as a member of the American Hockey League and as the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.
