Goers Signed to PTO by Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed defenseman Barry Goers to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

A fourth-year pro from Ivyland, Pa., Goers has posted one goal, four assists and two penalty minutes in 10 games for the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. The 27-year old has skated in 40 American Hockey League contests with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Lake Erie Monsters, collecting eight assists and 19 PIM.

Goers played four seasons of college hockey at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell from before beginning his pro career with the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL). He has totaled 61 points (13g-48a) over 130 ECHL games with Wheeling and Las Vegas.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins continue a six-game homestand tonight as they host the Hershey Bears, 7:05 p.m., at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
