Hogs Open Set against Barons Tonight

Rockford, Ill.- Friday night will be the first time that the Rockford IceHogs (13-11-2-0) and Oklahoma City Barons (10-13-0-4) face off in the 2013-14 season. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

You can tune into tonight's game against the Barons beginning at 6:30 p.m. with IceHogs Warm Up on Antenna TV 23.2, Comcast channel 436, Charter 970, Mediacom 101 or online at AHLLive.com.

After taking points in three straight games, and five of their last six, the IceHogs host the Barons who are just 2-5-0-2 over their last nine games. Rockford, however, has never recorded a win at home against Oklahoma City, showing a record of 0-6-1-0 in seven home tilts all-time.

Linus Omark leads the Barons in points with 28 (14g-14a), the next closest point producer on Oklahoma City has 16. The left winger is fourth in the AHL in points on the season and fourth in the AHL in goals. The Overtornea, Sweden native has scored a point in eight of his last ten games, with 13 points (4g-9a) over that span.

The IceHogs and Toys for Tots have combined to start a toy drive at this weekend's games. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring toys to donate to Toys for Tots and will receive a ticket voucher useable at the IceHogs games on January 3 or 4. Limit of one voucher per person.

Also at tonight's game, the IceHogs and ESPN 1380 continue their equipment drive to benefit the Stateline Boys and Girls Club. All gently used or new sports equipment will be accepted, including bats, balls, gloves, sticks, helmets, skates, cleats, shoes, etc... Sports apparel will not be accepted. The equipment drive will run until Saturday, Dec. 21, and all donated equipment will be distributed to the Stateline Boys and Girls Club.

All fans that participate by bringing an article of sports gear to the BMO Harris Bank Center will receive a special ticket offer (buy one ticket, get one free) for any IceHogs home game through January 10th. Limit one per person.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 14 vs. Oklahoma City Barons. Game time is 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Barons in game two of a back-to-back at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The game will be Girl Scout Cookie Kickoff night. Girl Scout cookies will be available for pre-order before the official sale begins.
