WIBX-Keeler Toy Drive to End with the Comets

The WIBX-Keeler Toy Drive will come to a close this weekend at the Utica Memorial Auditorium with an "Egg Nog Drop Contest" for a chance to win $500 in cash.

In order to quality for a chance to win the $500 cash prize, WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning has asked people to bring a new unwrapped toy to the Comets game vs the Lake Erie Monsters on Sunday Dec. 15. Fans who wish to participate in the contest are asked to arrive no later than 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, with a toy and rain gear, right outside The AUD on Oriskany St.

The "˜Egg Nog Drop', which will take place at 2 p.m., will feature Senator Joe Griffo pouring Byrne Dairy Egg Nog from a 30-foot lift. Three contestants will stand below the lift and try to catch the falling Egg Nog in a container. The contestant that collects the most Egg Nog, by weight, will win the $500 cash prize.

The Comets are offering any fan that brings a toy to the game, a $12 ticket. Sunday's game starts at 3p.m. The Comets game will serve as the finale of Keeler's toy drive, which benefits Operation Sunshine.
