Springfield Falcons News Release

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Friday that the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate, have recalled goaltender Jeremy Smith. In conjunction, Springfield has recalled goaltender Linus Lundin from his loan to the St. Charles Chill of the Central Hockey League.

In 15 appearances for Springfield this season, Smith is 11-3-1 with a 2.58 goals-against average and .908 save percentage. His 11 wins rank second in the American Hockey League. The Dearborn, Michigan native has never appeared in an NHL game, spending the past four seasons in the Nashville Predators organization with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals and ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones. Smith joins Mike McKenna, who was recalled by Columbus from Springfield Wednesday, December 4.

Lundin, who participated in training camp and the preseason with the Falcons, has appeared in six games with the Chill this season, posting a 1-5-0 record, 3.79 goals-against average and .886 save percentage. The 21-year-old netminder from Stockholm, Sweden played half of each of the Falcons' two preseason games, allowing only one goal on 12 shots faced in 60 minutes of action. Lundin spent the previous two seasons with the Springfield Pics of the Eastern Junior Hockey League and was named the league's Goaltender of the Year in 2012-13.

The first-place Falcons prepare for back-to-back games against the Norfolk Admirals at Scope Arena Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 7:15 p.m.
