Comets Earn Point in OT Loss to Hershey

January 31, 2026 - Utica, NY - The Comets faced off against the Hershey Bears on Saturday for the first time this season and fell 4-3 in overtime. The Bears were awarded a penalty shot just 1:07 into the game when Hershey forward Ilya Protas was hooked on a breakaway by Ethan Edwards. The Bears' top goal scorer then skated one-on-one against Nico Daws who shut him down with a beautiful glove save. Comets Clobber Crunch at Home, Win 5-1

January 25, 2026 - Utica, NY - The Comets hosted the Crunch on Sunday and came away with a 5-1 victory. The Comets had the start they were looking for, going on the power play just 1:26 into the game when Crunch defenseman Tommy Miller was called for high-sticking. Despite not capitalizing, the Comets scored shortly after the power play expired when Ethan Edwards sent a seeing-eye shot from the left point through traffic which beat Crunch netminder Ryan Fanti at the 3:40 mark to give the Comets a 1-0 lead. Halonen Strikes Twice, Comets Fall to Crunch 6-3

January 24, 2026 - Syracuse, NY - The Comets headed to Syracuse for the second time in the last eight days and were defeated by a score of 6-3. The Crunch were the stronger team out of the gate, generating some quality chances on Nico Daws who was tested heavily early on. Syracuse would strike first at the 6:40 mark when Ethan Samson fired a shot from the point which was blocked, but it bounced right to Mitchell Chaffee in the left circle who pounded it home to give the Crunch a 1-0 lead on his 10th goal of the year. Comets Shut out in Rochester, 3-0

January 23, 2026 - Rochester, NY - The Comets faced the Amerks at Blue Cross Arena for the third time this season and were shut out by a score of 3-0. It was a defensive-minded opening period without many grade-A scoring opportunities from either side for much of the period. The Comets were assessed the only penalty of the frame when Dmitry Osipov was called for tripping at 10:27, but the Comets held the Amerks at bay on the ensuing power play.
