SETTING THE SCENE

The Oilers and Mavericks clash for the third of ten meetings this season. Tulsa is still searching for its first win in the series after dropping a 4-3 overtime decision to Missouri on October 31 and coming up short in a 5-4 loss on November 4. The Mavericks went 4-0-0 at the BOK Center last season and have won six straight games on the Oilers' ice. Tulsa is led by veteran center Jon Booras with 14 points (3 goals, 11 assists) while Missouri is paced by former CHL MVP, Sebastien Thinel with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists).

BRUSHING OFF THE RUSH

Last night against Rapid City, the Oilers built a 3-0 first period lead and coasted to a 6-4 victory over the Rush. Jon Booras tallied twice for Tulsa and Luke Judson chipped in a goal and an assist to lead the Oilers' offensive effort. Kevin Carr made 33 saves to give the Oilers back-to-back regulation wins for the first time this season and push their home record to 3-1-1.

CAN'T STOP THIS

No team in the ECHL is scoring more goals per game than the Oilers. Tulsa ranks number one in the league with an average of 4.22 goals per contest and is one of only four teams (Fort Wayne, Toledo, Allen) that is recording four goals per game or more. The Oilers have reached the four-goal plateau in five of their nine games and are scoring on 15-percent of their shots.

WHAT'S BETTER THAN TWO?

A triumph over Missouri tonight would give the Oilers their first three-game winning streak of the season and give them sole possession of first place in the ECHL's Central Division. In the 2013-14 season, Tulsa had seven winning streaks of three games or more.

CAIG STAND-ING OUT

In his second tour in Tulsa, winger T.J. Caig scored seven goals in the first eight games of the season and last night against Rapid City, the 33-year old recorded his first multi-assist game of the season and led all Oilers with a +3 rating. Caig is riding a four-game point streak and leads the team with a .350 shooting percentage.

PUGILISTIC

Tulsa defenseman Dave Pszenyczny and forward Tommy Mele both dropped the gloves on Friday night in the Oilers first multi-fight game of the season. Pszenyczny tussled with Rush forward J.P. Chabot in the second period and Mele traded punches with former Tulsa blue-liner, Sean Erickson, in the third period. Mele, who also scored a goal in the Oilers' victory, leads the squad with 38 penalty minutes.

700 CLUB

Tulsa bench boss Bruce Ramsay is coaching his 700 th career game tonight. Now in his sixth season at the Oilers helm, Ramsay's coaching career began in 2002 with the St. Petersburg Parrots of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. The 45-year old spent two seasons with the Port Huron Beacons and three years as the head coach of the Muskegon Fury/Lumberjacks before landing in Tulsa in 2009. Ramsay's career record is 350-283-66, a .554 lifetime winning percentage.
