Reading Royals News Release

ROYALS PRE-GAME NOTES

- Last night in Kalamazoo, the Royals won their second shootout in two tries this season. Reading shooters are 4 for 8 in the shootout on the season; and the team's goaltenders have stopped eight of the ten shootout shots they have faced.

- The Royals power play went 2 for 4 with the man advantage yesterday against the K-Wings. That marked the second consecutive game and the third time this year (in nine played) that the Royals PP has scored more than one goal. Reading's power play has been held off the board only twice this season.

Overall, the PP is 11 for 48 on the season, which translates into a 22.9% scoring ratio-fourth best in the league.

- Reading's penalty kill blanked the K-Wings power play in yesterday's game, killing both of the power play chances that Kalamazoo had in that game. That marks only the third time this season that the Royals' penalty killers have kept the opposition off the board. Overall, Reading has given up nine PPGA in thirty-six chances with the man advantage for the opposition, which is a 75.0% kill ratio (tied for 27th in the league).

- The four penalty minutes assessed against the Royals in yesterday's shootout win over Kalamazoo was a season low for Reading.

- Playing in his third game of the year last night, Kevin Walrod scored his first goal of the season to tie yesterday's game at one 10:22 into the first period. Last season, Walrod had eight goals in thirty-nine regular season games with the team.

- Adam Comrie scored his second goal in as many games-both of which have been scored while the Royals were on the power play-to give Reading the team's first lead of the game (2-1) 13:44 into the second period yesterday. In his first stint with the Royals in 2012-13, Comrie had seventeen goals in forty-five games with the team.

- David Marshall scored his third goal in two games (and fourth of the season) while the Royals were on a major power play 4:59 into the third period to give the team a 3-2 lead. Marshall also picked up an assist on the Royals first goal (by Kevin Walrod). That was his third multi-point game (and second in a row) in seven games for Reading.

- Cam Reid extended his personal point streak to eight straight games (3g-7a=10pts) with an assist in yesterday's 4-3 shootout win. Reid also scored the shootout winner in that game.

- Olivier Labelle extended his personal point streak to five games (1g-5a=6pts) and his assist streak to four games (5a) when he picked up a helper on Comrie's power play goal yesterday. That point pushed Labelle into the fourth spot on the all-time scoring list for the Royals with 140 points (73g-67a) in 165 games with the team.
